2. Show Two Recap

There were a few disastrous bits:

            -dealing with the emergency lights

            -getting into the supply room (AV hours have changed from 8:30-4:0 to 8-4)

            -membership desk had no volunteers and no desk for a while

                        -enforcement of membership?

                                    -someone thought it was free, as Karl how that went, it might affect policy

Activity: The Cosplay contest went well

            13 Entrants, more were in costume

            Much fun was had by all

            Photos were taken

3. Volunteer Shows

Low turnout last week, but at least there was some turnout

Saturday’s show went pretty well with key access, speakers, and no emergency lights

Tuesday show problems have probably been resolved (Hopefully turnkey can figure out their key lists in the future)

            -The club may need to get stuff in writing, eg. “We, turnkey, will accept non-student Ids from the following people in exchange for the office key”

Volunteers: There have been some but no cashbox=no membership selling

            -Karl must be bugged

            -Nick has the membership list, will put in the office

Amanda functions as exec volunteer at her shows

            -Needs a Watcard volunteer, cashbox, additional volunteers for setup    

Volunteers: Tim, Kaitlan, Travis for setup at 6:30

Posters mentioning the existence of the volunteer shows would be handy

            Currently advertised on mailing list and site

            Put posters in the MC

            Have future posters advertise all the club events, one unified poster)

                        Designed by Nick or Mo, send to Publicity Officer

            Try it for Show Three

                        Nick volunteers

                        Will there be volunteer shows after Show Three?

Get FEDS runs for every two weeks to have posters up all the time and only do faculty posters for the big shows, plus maybe the SLC and MathSoc

Start reusing poster designs, create several templates to rotate

            Are FEDS posters getting noticed? A question of the amount of returns on our investment

4. Show 3 Planning (prelim.)

We need the 2nd disc for several series:

Mushishi: Is there a disc 2 available? It should be as of this week

            Buy or rent? We own disc 1 (or will as soon as Travis is reimbursed), so may as well buy disc two

Fate/Stay Night Disc 2 covered (Club)

Kamichu Disc 2 covered (Karl)

Haruhi Disc 2 covered (Many people)

Tales of Phantasia covered (Club)

Chevalier d’Eon: ERO can try bugging Paradox for another freebie, otherwise club can purchase

Backup disc: Tsubasa

Further planning tabled for next meeting

Activity: Drawing contest

            Needs early advertisement

            No time for AMV or karaoke contest

Christmas themed anime? Maybe for a volunteer show

5. Extra-Show Activities

Luncheon: Went okay, restaurant wasn’t great (lacked non-chicken meals, had many zombies)

            Next luncheon at China Legend in the plaza, meeting place at 2105 or Great Hall

Lazer Quest: e-mail sent to WatSFiC, no reply yet

Nick has made several suggestions for activities, a list may be put on the forums

Another suggestion is a workshop to teach the Haruhi dance

Ontario Anime Society may be helpful for activities

Activity considerations: viability, volunteers, turnout

6. Old Business

Office: We’ve been shafted by FEDS, our office is lost, might get Konja’s (feud potential), are any promises broken by FEDS (eg. That our removal from our office was “temporary)

So what now? Locker space, Dave asks Konja to give us their office

We need an outlet for a printer

What equipment does Karl have at home? Maybe get a list from him

Secretary will make inventory of the club’s assets in the office

Anime North: May 23-35, dates and prices subject to change

$110 Room (2 nights) due Dec. 1st

$40 Pass (weekend) due Feb. 1st

30$ Bus (two-way trip, leave Fri, return Sun) due Apr. 1st

Non-members might need to pay a membership fee or club members will just be reimbursed eight bucks

Club Forum Suggestions: something about a new club

WFAC: Nov. 15-18, run by Joe Chen feature length international animation

            Organize a club trip?

            Club exec can attend Pixar Story free

            Matt will move his show to avoid schedule conflict

            Advertise WFAC on mailing list

Club activity for Wednesday? Amanda might do one

Value Village trip recap: Five went, all did Cosplay
