Wait, is this new Haruhi episode the actual series, or just a new ep of Haruhi-chan?

it might be just one episode. most of the raws show episode 8 O.o The ending was different. I don't know if it's mixed up episodes or if it's just an added on episode for the first season.

I watched that new ep of Suzumiya Haruhi yesterday, it's the Bamboo Rapsody ep, pretty much adapted the novel line for line. There's a new ending for it as well. The song is okay, I like Hare Hare Yukai better though, and was disappointed there's no new dance XD The animation is rather flashy, in a seizure-inducing kind of way >_>

So anyway, it seems to me that they're re-broadcasting the old eps in chronological order (instead of the broadcast order), and inserting the new eps when they come up chronologically. So ep 1-6 in this new season broadcast is SHnY I - VI, ep 7 is the baseball ep, ep 8 is Bamboo Rapsody. Looking from the timeline, ep 9 is going to be Mysterique Sign, then the Lone Island Syndrome eps. So I'm guessing ep 12 is going to be new ones, adapting Endless Eight (not sure if they're using one or two eps for it though). Then maybe a few eps adapting the Sighs of Suzumiya Haruhi.

I guess it makes sense for them to broadcast this way, to A) refresh your memory of events, if you forgot, or haven't seen the first season yet and B) a way to get people to rewatch the first season (because they don't tell you when new eps are, so you have to keep watching.

But I'd rather have them do a mixed broadcasting again for just the season 2 eps, more fun that way XD Also, I dunno how the DVD releases are going to work. Are they going to release both seasons together? or just the new eps, or what? ...

They should. I don't think they'll get into The Dissociation, as some people hoped. If they did though, I think it would be a pretty strong sign of a third season, as a lot happens between where we are now and that story arc.

I think besides Bamboo Rhapsody they're doing Endless Eight as the one-ep story (much like Mysterique Sign, Boredom, ie the short stories). The big chunk of the season is probably the Disappearance, because the promotional art from Newtype (waaaaaayyyy back when the season was announced, and in between) had Haruhi in long hair and that uniform; these will be the eps like the Melancholy, taking multiple episodes, maybe 6 like the Melancholy?

So that leaves about 6 eps, assuming they do the 14-ep run again. Some of that might be used to do the Sighs, some might be used to do more of those "one-shot" stories like Snow Mountain Syndrome and The Melancholy of Asahina Mikuru

Definitely won't get into Dissociation, 'cause there's still vol 7 + 8 to adapt between that. If they ever adapt that it'll have to be another season.

They'll probably do season 1 and season 2 in chronological order.

Poo at order, it was so good not in order that they gave away the best possible ending ever if they did Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody last. X_X . Whatever, I'm not producer of the show so I can't complain about it and have it revised.
