So there's suggestions floating around that we should have membership buttons/pins next term instead of membership cards.

A few options:
1 have a preset design, and different numbers in the design (so the buttons will forever have that number, claimed or not)
2 have same button, and write the numbers in permanent marker when someone claims the number
3 use Pokemon (National Pokedex order) instead of numbers, example, if I want #9, the button will have Blastoise on it

option 1 will look nicest, but the unclaimed numbers can't really be reused

option 2 will be most flexible, unused buttons can be used for something else, but won't look as nice (mmm permanent marker, though I think we need to use it anyway to sign the pins, on the back)

option 3 was just my random idea thrown in, probably not very practical
Impractical though it may be, I quite like the Pokemon idea.
Include a signature behind the pin to indicate that an exec has acknowledged the owner as a member of ctrl-a.
Can we do Gundams for one of them? List like 0-99 different gundams and draw a different head design for each one. I'll help since I got nothing to do next term ^_^ But this might be implemented the term after.
Another option might be to have membership cards (though not put much effort into them), and print off buttons as the numbers are taken
Well, we could do the preorder kind of idea. You can join earlier before we print the buttons, and then you could choose your own number/have a mini-decal.

Then those who join after the buttons are printed just get pre-printed numbers/pre-made decals.
Hmm. It would help new members find the people who know what the club is like (because I suspect that pre-orders would be done by clubs days or something)...

I don't know, beyond special pins for the execs, I don't know if having those kinds of distinctions would be necessary or wise. I would suggest at most pre-ordering in the sense that you come, buy a membership, and the next time you're at an event, you get your button.
