Does anyone know if they use any music programs to create music with? This includes composing background music (compiling notes together) and may be even some with a microphone input to allow vocals.
Preferably free because I am running a non-profit budget. Thx
Guitar Pro, though I could never really get it working well.

Acid Pro toooo
Fruity Loops?
Good for techno xD
Thank you guys, got FL studios.
Have you tried MIDI at all? With MIDI and some good sound fonts, I would believe it is possible to come up with something decent.

My Sample

Trademark infringement.

Yes, I can make music using their software, but that would mean that I would be using material that will require trademark licensing from. As well, Mario Paint cannot be saved in music format.
Vocaloid 2?
Same problem. Vocaloid is still an exclusive format, to the best of my knowledge.

MIDI, at least, is a lot less specific. It is program code which plays as music.
Vocaloid 2 can be used if you have bought it legit and are referencing the use of Vocaloid. It is because they state that it is use only for the purpose of music creation. I will have to look into it if they require any legal issues on the voice actors themselves. However, it is a good tool to use (but I have illegit copy of it, so I don't think I'll be using it).
