Hi,

Wanted to see if any of the members from Ctrl-A had any plans of going to CNAnime Expo this year?

It's not all about anime, it is a combination of comic book, SFX, festival fear. anime and gaming. Has Ctrl-A ever did this before?
I certainly haven't heard talk of it.

Question though: "Canada's largest anime/manga event"? Is that true? I was under the impression that Anime North was bigger, unless they're counting FULL attendance, and seeing as it isn't all anime... isn't that claim kinda false?
Yeah, it's big but it's nowhere near the size of Anime North. And in my opinion, Anime North is a hell of a lot better. CNAnime wasn't great when I went the one year and I haven't been back since. >.>

And the majority focuses on non-anime things so while I don't discourage going if you want to, if you had to choose between the two, I'd recommend AN.

I've been to two CNAnime and never been to AN (was gonna go last year but couldn't due to... I can't remember. Something. I was in Peterborough or something. Was gonna go this year, but I was in Paris. As in France.). I must say that CNAnime certainly had a lot of anime stuff going on, and with it being about when the CNE hits TO, there are a lot of people.

Sadly, though, I can't give you more of a comparison, and since I won't be able to go to this year's CNAnime (last year I was in Halifax, this year I'll be in Parry Sound. Getting married.) I can't say that I'm going.

Though I'm sure you could scrounge up some non-forum trolls at a show who are planning on being there. Try asking!
I hardly think its the largest since only 1/4 of it is anime/ manga.

I like the con because its possible to meet people. It has a large dealer room, but I liked it when it was CN in the small side of the convention center.

I've been going for many years but not this year due to money.

if you like sci-fi, horror or comics than theres stuff to do with that type of things. A good thing is there is a very large artist alley.
If the Major League Gaming tour makes a stop in Toronto this year then I'll be there for the WoW tourney because I'm hella baller like that.
I'll be going. If anyone would like to meet up, that'd be great. Shoot a pm or something.
